Friends of the Library thank sponsors
On Wednesday, February 24, patrons of the library were invited to join members of the Friends of the Library and Valleyview Municipal Library Board for coffee and cake. Anita Piebiak, spokesperson for the Friends of the Library, unveiled a sponsorship plaque to thank and commemorate all of the groups, businesses and individuals who have contributed to the Library and were responsible for the move to our current facility.
The M.D. of Greenview # 16 awarded a grant of $2000, plus a laptop computer to the Library to help build a new media centre. The proposed media centre will consist of a movie projector, viewing screen, media cart, laptop and other audio/visual items. It will be used for various program activities such as movie nights and guest presentations. The Friends of the Library group generously donated a cheque for $1600, which will also be used to purchase additional audio/visual equipment for the media centre.
